Fallout 76 download capped at 2mbs4/10/2023 ![]() ![]() However when it comes back online the speeds stay at 2mbps instead of the normal 55-60. This sometimes happens and takes the connect sometimes 20s to 2mins to come back online. Anyway here's what happened:Ģam last night: I was watching a youtube video on my computer, boom, I lose internet connection. This problem took over 14 days to solve last time which is unacceptable considering I rely heavily on a solid internet connection for my business. I don't know what is causing the issue but it's VERY inconvenient. Question ASUS RT-AC86U Capping Download Speeds (Ethernet Only), help fixing please. You can read my previous posts to get an idea of whats going on here, it's happened again. Question Steam download capped at 1.1 mbps Question Ethernet on computer capped at 100mbps Question My download speed suddenly dropped after a download ? Slow download speeds (1MB/s) mainly on steam Question download speed won't go over 100Mbps on new build Question What is fiber internet best for? How fast is actual download speed? Who to go with (Dearborn, MI)? Question All downloads fail regardless of browser, despite good network speeds after fresh Windows install ? Moca struggles to get above 3Mpbs upload while having 700-900 download OP stated he has an Asus z170-a, using the latest drivers provided on the asus support site he should be able to manually change the duplex and speed settings even to 1gbps. So for the vast majority of NIC adapters you cant manually force-set it to 1gbps full duplex. Most all adapters settings have 100mbps full duplex but does not have a manual setting for 1gbps full duplex as that it is auto. Not to mention that some people actually use their local network to talk to other computers/devices in their home, not just the internet. The OPs connection is gigabit, says so in his first post. If you have a faster connection just select 1Gbp/s instead of 100mbit/s. I agree however my connection isnt faster than 25mbit/s anyway. You have a 1gbps connection and you have bandaid fixed your computer to do 1/10th that speed (100mbps), I personally wouldnt be satasified in calling that a long term fix (even more so considering you are probably paying a decent price for that fiber connection). There was no need to change cable or router. I installed the latest driver from the Asus support site and simply changed the setting from 10 to 100mbit/s Full Duplex. If it is capping at the same speed, I dont believe it is a motherboard issue. What kind of ethernet cable are you using. the fiber routher that we got when fiber got installed in our house is connected to our Main router which is connected to my PC my mothers Laptop dads laptops etc, u name it. ![]() and it's connected in to my ethernet port which is in my MOBO. What kind of ethernet cable are you using? IS it connected directly to the modem? Is the a separate router? Also have you tried multiple devices? My "Fiber" works fine but just seems like my motherboard cant handle more than 1.2 mb/s download? Do I have to get a networkcard? since Im supposed to get aprox 100 mb/s when downloading on steam with this internet I currently have. I currently have the Z170-A motherboard and I have installed the latest LAN drives for it aswell. but seems like my download speed is capped at 1.2 mp/s when I download anything, it can be from Chrome,Steam,Origin u name it. which is one of the fastest internet on earth if Im correct. Recently got Fiber to our house and the speed is 1 gbps (1000mb/s) down and 100 mb/s up. while my desktop is at 10 mb up and 10 down which is aprox 1.2 mb/s when Im downloading. my motherslaptop has like 60 mb down and 60 mb up so I bet that her Pc cant handle more than that. capped at 1.2 mp/s My phone can now download at aprox 3-4 mb/s when I got fiber and it was on aprox 1.6-1.7 mb/s before which has doubled it. so what Im trying to say is that it was the same download speed 12 months ago when I didnt have Fiber and today it's the same thing. when I upgraded and got my new MOBO the (Z170-A) which I got a year before I got the fiber it was locked on 1.2 mb/s aswell. back when I had my old MOBO and didnt even have fiber I had 1.7 mb/s at download. If you get the same result there then it has to be the modem/router or something is wrong on your ISPs end. In the last 7 years of me building computers I have never had a motherboard not be able to handle 1 Gbps speed through the network card for LAN transfers so I don't think the problem is there. ![]()
